How to Become a Home Inspector in New Hampshire
As one of the original 13 colonies, New Hampshire is a northeastern state bordered by Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, the Atlantic Ocean, and Quebec, a Canadian province. - Are you familiar with the song “Mary Had A Little Lamb?”?The poem was written in Newport, New Hampshire, by Sarah Josepha Hale. According to Sterling, Massachusetts, it may have been written by John Roulstone, which claims this nursery rhyme.
- North Virginia was the original name of New Hampshire. Despite its distance from Virginia, the state has the same landscape. In 1787, Levi Hutchins invented Concord’s first alarm clock. A public library was also established in Peterborough in 1833, the first free library in the state. There are no U.S. coastal states as short as New Hampshire, with a coastline of approximately 18 miles.
- New Hampshire declared its independence from England first (six months before the Declaration of Independence was signed).
- A foreign war was the only one to end in New Hampshire. Portsmouth, New Hampshire, was the site of signing the treaty ending the Russo-Japanese War in 1905.
- Mount Washington in New Hampshire recorded wind speeds of 231 miles per hour on April 12, 1934. The wind speed is twice as strong as hurricane winds, and it’s the second-highest ever recorded.
